How To Knit Yarn Over (yo) and Yarn Over Needle (yon)

What happens to your knitting when you come across jargon, like yarn over, that you don’t recognise?

    Big disaster?

    Do you give up?

Do you spend hours surfing Google looking for the answers?

Often shortened to ‘yo’ in knitting patterns, yarn over is where you don’t actually knit a stitch but create an extra stitch on the needle.

As a new knitter you could find yourself with holes you didn’t mean to create, ?

we’ve all been there! But this technique and extra stitch forms a hole in your fabric on purpose, which can be used for many different reasons.

The main reason is for increasing but also lace knitting, buttonholes, decorative stitches and creating eyelets.

I hope you find this one useful, I certainly have been using this stitch a lot in my recent knitting projects and I wanted to share.
